It’s with great sadness I report the recent loss of Tim Richards, a passionate gamer and dynamic contributor to the Australian game community. I had the pleasure of working with Tim, a lawyer, writer and founder of Dissecta gaming events in Melbourne on a number of occasions. Dissecta brought together game developers, academics, students, publishers and game fans in and provided an open forum for discussion and debate. He will be sadly missed within the game community.

Tim died last month after a long battle with heart disease and a recent transplant. He was 36.
